Submeasure: 16.9 social agriculture
IL TERRITORIO CI INSEGNA
We are thrilled to be participating in the regional project "The Territory Teaches Us." This initiative, made possible thanks to the support of the EAFRD through Sub-measure 16.9 of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Program (RDP), represents a valuable opportunity for our Educational, Evolutionary, and Social Farm, "Il Giardino di Manipura," to introduce children to the world of social agriculture through immersive, sensory experiences.
Our commitment to this project stems from a genuine desire: we want to convey to children the wonder of discovering the land through their senses, of feeling the earth beneath their feet, of recognizing the scents of the countryside, and of perceiving the lifeblood of nature. We firmly believe that educating new generations about respect for the environment and sustainability is an essential duty for each of us as we strive to build a more harmonious and conscious future.
The values that guide our journey in this project are deeply rooted in sustainability, education, and the valorization of the connection between the land and the community. We want to promote active and engaging participation, where every child can feel part of a great collective journey to discover our environment and the history of our land.
Through our membership in "The Territory Teaches Us," we aim to lead children on a journey of exploration into the dynamics of the natural and agricultural cycle.
We want to raise awareness among young children about sustainable agricultural practices and their positive impact on the environment, while strengthening their connection to the land through shared and collaborative experiences.
The activities we have designed are divided into eight 40-hour sessions, spread over five intense days. Each day is a total immersion in a specific theme, a sensory journey that leads children through natural elements, awakening in them a new and profound awareness of the world around them.

Submeasure: 16.9 social agriculture
IL BOSCO CHE CURA
Social farming initiative funded by the Rural Development Programme (RDP) Measure 16.9 "Diversification of agricultural activities into activities related to healthcare, social integration, community-supported agriculture, and environmental and food education," led by the Villa Basilica Consortium for the Management of Agro-Forestry Resources.
This project represents an innovative integration of traditional medical therapies and natural practices for disadvantaged groups, including Forest Therapy, Aromatherapy, and Pet Therapy.
Specifically, the main goal of the "Il Bosco che cura" project is to serve as a pioneering local experiment in the practice of combining conventional medical therapies with "natural" therapies.
At our Agriturismo and Educational, Evolutionary, and Social Farm, Il Giardino di Manipura, we firmly believe in the regenerative power of nature and its crucial role in human well-being, which is why we decided to join this project.

PAROLE NEL VERDE
The "Words in the Green" - Speech Therapy in Nature project aims to offer families a space where children can learn through play in a multidimensional ecological context through the benefits of outdoor education, recognizing the importance and effectiveness of preventative interventions.
At the same time, information and counseling for parents are essential. The project is based on the principles of effective play,
interactivity with the environment to implicitly learn in an ecological context, and mutual reinforcement of peer relationships in small groups. Through observation, exploration, contact, and direct experience with nature, which promotes creativity and critical thinking, it will be possible to strengthen oral language at multiple levels (vocabulary, narrative skills, metaphonology, early learning), teach listening skills, stimulate attention, and recognize emotions.
The project is in line with this year's European Speech Therapy Day theme, "Language and environment, together they win. Enriching the environment to enrich language."

NONNI PER TUTTE LE STAGIONI
Our company has worked in collaboration and exchange with other agricultural businesses and competent entities in the area, jointly and synergistically, to establish a Collaboration Agreement (Regional Law 71 of 2020) aimed at establishing and regulating the informal Social Agriculture Roundtable already present in our area.
The overall goal of the project and the proposed activities, led by the Calafata Agricultural Cooperative, is to increase and strengthen actions aimed at social inclusion for vulnerable and/or disadvantaged individuals through the development of new social services and benefits that increase the diversification of the participating agricultural businesses to meet the needs of the community, as well as foster and strengthen the development of rural networks.
Inclusiveness is a fundamental principle for us; we aim to create spaces where every individual, regardless of their personal characteristics or life history, feels welcomed and valued. In an increasingly diverse society, promoting inclusiveness is a moral duty and a necessity for building stronger, more cohesive communities.
Specifically, this project is based on the assumption that aging actively can make a difference. This is a slogan, in our view, that should be adopted in the coming decades to usher in the cultural change needed to give an increasingly aging population full dignity, including in the economic and social spheres.
We have seen firsthand that fostering opportunities for intergenerational exchange creates strong bridges between generations. Indeed, great importance must be given to the exchange between young people and adults. On the one hand, the "adult educator"—in the role of tutor or mentor—contributes to the transmission of knowledge and experience (crystallized intelligence). On the other, the "young educator" fills the technological or linguistic gaps (liquid intelligence) of those older than them.
We have created unique regenerative paths among our majestic eucalyptus trees and many medicinal plants grown on our land, with the sun filtering through the leaves and the sound of birdsong accompanying our every step. A series of activities have been integrated, designed to promote well-being through direct contact with nature, both through applied aromatherapy and sensory and creative workshops where everyone can express their full potential.
The project is divided into two paths:
The Healing Forest: Days where the heart of the proposed activities is applied aromatherapy integrated with horticultural therapy, sensory workshops, and dynamic meditations in the eucalyptus woods. The aim is to deeply connect with nature and tap into our deepest and most emotional selves, supported by the great therapeutic value of essential oils.
It is scientifically proven that monoterpenes (which eucalyptus trees are rich in) can positively impact our immune system, not to mention their countless benefits for the respiratory system and the development of endorphins.
The medicinal plants used in the program therefore add a further sense of well-being. These plants, known for their healing properties, release natural aromas that have positive effects on the mind and body; lavender can improve mood, mint relieves anxiety, rosemary increases mental clarity, and eucalyptus combats stress.
A 5-day program, held weekly.
A bank of knowledge and flavors: Days of creativity and knowledge sharing, tied to rural celebrations, where you can learn, exchange, and pass on knowledge and flavors from the past and present. Grandma's recipes will be used, along with timeless natural remedies and the sharing of ancient anecdotes and traditions.
A 5-day program - held monthly
Both programs include moments of intergenerational interaction, fostering socialization, a sense of belonging, and relationships. The integration of these two programs, both of which include moments of intergenerational interaction, fosters socialization and a sense of belonging through relationships, while also maintaining the skills and abilities learned during the experience, essentially creating the conditions necessary to improve the quality of life of older adults.
